1. Who is a strategist? Describe the main types of jobs that have a strong strategy element.
>A strategist is someone with a lot of skill and experience in planning, especially in military, political, or business matters. (dictionary.cambridge.org, 2013)
Strategist of an organisation is the one who plans and implement new ideas in the organisation so as to achieve the set goal and mission. Usually, the individuals holding a high level position in an organisation plays the role of a strategist.
The three main types of jobs that have a strong strategy element are:
- Chief executive officer (C.E.O)
- General Manager
- Managing Director
2. What's the difference between a strategic planner and a strategic consultant?
> Strategic planner is the one who basically collect information and data and then analyse it.They are the one who implements new projects as well. Strategic planning being an internal job of an organisational development, the strategic planners generally evaluate organisational objectives and plans and then determine whether to implement new objectives or not so as to gain sustainability.
Whereas, Strategic consultant is the one in the organisation who basically generate and prioritize options. Strategic consultant being the external member of an organisation, they basically helps in transferring knowledge and also helps in promoting strategic decisions.
